‘Food Regulation: Law, Science, Policy, and Practice’ connects legal theory with practical application
Purnendu C. Vasavada, PhD, joined Food Quality & Safety as a Co-Industry Editor in January 2018. He is a Professor Emeritus of Food Science, University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and the principal and managing member of PCV & Associates, LLC, where he provides consulting and assistance to the food industry in planning, development, and management of special projects involving food safety and microbiology, quality assurance, and other contemporary topics of interest to food industry and consumers. Previously, Dr. Vasavda served as a FDA-ORISE Fellow and the coordinator of the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), a broad-based public private alliance whose mission is to support safe food production by developing a nationwide core curriculum, training, and outreach programs to help companies comply with FSMA’s preventive controls. He is one of the Trainer of the Trainers (ToT) and Lead Instructor for Preventive Controls Qualified Individual training for Human Food and for the Foreign Supplier Verification Program, in addition to being active in FSPCA committees. Recognized internationally, Dr. Vasavada is the author/co-author of over 100 publications including peer-reviewed papers, technical abstracts, and book chapters.
